Community Guidelines
Effective: September 25, 2026
The Community Guidelines apply to sharing features such as works and comments on the Ssuessueknits website and app, and form part of the Terms of Service.
1. Respect each other's knitting time
You are welcome to share works, material choices, gauge and failed attempts. Do not belittle others for differences in taste, skill level or price choices. Specific criticism and complaints about products or services are allowed; personal attacks and group harassment are not.
2. Content and behavior that are not allowed
Child sexual exploitation, grooming and sexual extortion, unlawfully filmed material and non-consensual sexual imagery, pornography, threats of violence, and incitement to hatred or discrimination are prohibited.
Check that photos do not expose sensitive information about you or others, such as addresses, contact details, order forms or payment details. Do not post personal information without the person's permission or encourage others to find it.
Impersonation, account takeover, phishing, fraudulent recruitment, unauthorized selling, illegal goods, malicious links, repetitive spam, and manipulation of reactions or reviews are prohibited.
Creating new accounts to evade sanctions and organized false reporting are prohibited.
3. Rights in patterns and works
Post only photos and text you created or have permission to use. Do not upload or share other people's paid PDFs, full charts, translations, video lessons or unreleased test patterns without permission.
Showing a work is different from distributing the pattern used to make it. Crediting the designer and pattern name does not create permission to copy, translate or sell it.
Rights disputes are reviewed together with the expression used, how it was posted, the scope of permission and the evidence. We do not decide based only on the number of reports or on similarity of techniques or ideas.
Rights holders may submit the post identifier, their own rights or authority to act, the reason for the infringement claim and contact details through the contact channel. Do not send unnecessary full ID documents or passwords.
4. Sponsorship, testing and knit-alongs
Reviews involving an interest, such as free yarn, kits or patterns, fees or sales commissions, must disclose that relationship clearly. Benefits cannot be used to demand only positive reviews or to hide unfavorable ones.
Organizers of knit-alongs or test-knitter calls must state the schedule, costs and items provided, participation conditions, scope of feedback, and when photos may be reused or published before people join. They cannot claim blanket ownership of participants' records or photos.
Testers must respect the permitted scope for unreleased material they receive. Do not disclose other participants' personal information or private conversations without consent.
We distinguish events hosted by the platform from recruitment by members. A recruitment post alone does not make the platform the organizer or a guarantor of quality.
5. Reports and review
Use the report menu on works and comments, or the contact page (in the app: Privacy & help → Contact · Report), and state the target and the reason. Account reports can be filed through the same channel with the target information. We aim to send a first reply within 3 business days of receipt.
Urgent harm, child safety, and rights or privacy infringements are reviewed first. We do not promise automatic removal or that the other party will be blocked as soon as a report is filed. You can hide users you do not want to see with the block feature.
After reviewing the context and evidence, we may request edits, limit visibility, remove content, or suspend use temporarily or permanently. Depending on severity, protective measures may be taken without warning; we explain the reason and how to request review where possible.
6. Review requests and personal information
If you believe a decision was wrong, submit the decision, the reason and any additional material through the same contact channel. Legitimate appeals or criticism are never in themselves grounds for sanctions.
Report materials and contact details are processed only as needed for review and reply. Retention periods and how to exercise your rights follow the Privacy Policy.
